Starting to shop for my {Build} or {Remodel}

Where should I begin?

Right {HERE} Just follow these steps to start looking in the right direction for what captivates you and your style.

How do I find my style?

Pinterest…of course! (Or other search engines…there is so much out there that you can usually get a sense of direction). Search different styles, and color palettes. Find something close…then begin making adjustments here and there until you {LOVE} it!

Then what?

Decide on a budget. I can usually get a project done for under budget if needed but when setting your amount also account for the most you can afford to spend on the project, that way if something goes wrong…you have a little wiggle room. {Or if there is an item {or two} that you want to splurge on}.

Next?

Start the shopping process {early}…meaning BEFORE you have to have it to keep the project going. You will always spend more if it is a ‘need-it-now’ thing, and worse, it may not be exactly what you wanted or envisioned. Take the time to look in a few different places and compare prices. Several stores will even meet prices if you find a better one!

What is your most helpful shopping tip?

If it is something that you may eventually replace, that doesn’t need to be high quality…don’t buy the go for the most expensive. For example: if you want white subway tile on your walls, it doesn’t need to be expensive, no one will walk on it, and no one will ever know if you paid $0.50sq ft or $3.00sq ft.
